XJ road trips

Hey ya'll, so my xj is pretty up there milage wise (295,xxx) however i recently found a new hobby racing motocross, however the problem is most tracks are several hours away from me. It usually makes me nervous driving my jeep long distance so i was wondering are there things i can do to improve my jeeps road trip capability/ reliability?

Keep it well maintained--same as always. Fluids, filters, spark, gaskets, sensors, fuel system, brakes, etc--keep them changed/in good shape. Is there anything wrong with it? If it's still running well, what are you worried about? I've seen an article featuring a guy who went over 600k miles on his 4.0, and I've read a rumor of someone hitting 700k. I've seen plenty exceed 300k still running strong.

I forget what thread it was posted in, but someone posted pics last week of the XJ with 720k miles on original engine and trans.
