xj rear d44 question( brakes)

Hi there, couple questions for you cherokee guys. I'm looking at grabbing a rear d44 out of a cherokee to chuck in my yj. No idea what year its from, but it has disc brakes? I just figured it would've came with drums. Would it have come stock w/ discs? Maybe that would help me narrow down what year its from? Thanks.

hmmmmm, the one I'm looking at also had buckets for coil springs, but i'm 99% positive some one cut off the perches and added the buckets, starting to wonder if the discs were added also.. i cant find any info on the site or online yet to lead me to any info regarding drums/discs.. maybe they're off a zj.. Obviously a bonus if it comes with discs, but without knowing what the heck they're off of, i'm going to have a hell of a time ordering parts for anything on it.

It could be from a ZJ or TJ, if it had spring buckets OEM then it is def not from an XJ

And if its from either, pass. All XJ (or MJ) D44 "Metric Ton" axles came with drum brakes and leaf springs. Also, the ZJ D44 is actually a D44a which has an aluminum center... not what you want as it has no support and is junk compared to an iron D44
