Umm call the dealer they can help you we can't! This does look a bit suspicious for a newbie

Go into the dealership i tried calling in to the Chevy dealership when my theft loc was on(don't ask me why it was like that when I got it from a used lot) they told me they couldn't do it over the phone had to have a tech do it on site... Made sense any thief would just call after stealing a stereo if the dealership just handed it out

Thanks for the replies

I don't think any self respecting thief would steal one of these radios

I'm in the UK and the dealers (we call them stealers) will charge more than the radios worth to give the code.

I'll probably upgrade to a Bluetooth unit.

The dealerships around here are pretty helpful.... Aslong as you don't need any repairs that involve replacement parts you walk out with a smile.... They should unlock it for you free of charge

My '00 XJ had an AM/FM Cassette.

Had it replaced before I put the plates on it.

Got my code from the following:

ww.ukbookshelf.co.uk

Cost 5 UKP about $8.

Worked ok, but I think I'll still upgrade. Need to search for the posts on head units
