Oh yes, I just remembered this incident last fall. I'm not too proud of it. I drove off the road you can see pictured in the background onto a power line trail. I made it just fine up on the trail, but then when I came back I pulled forward to get a better angle at the ditch for road re-entry when suddenly, MUDDIEST MUDHOLE IN ALL OF TENNESSEE. The front wheels were sunk in hard and the unibody-frame-control-arm-things were sitting on solid ground. So anyway we got a pickup truck and a long chain and dragged back and fourth. (Which actually ended up putting so much torque on the body that the rear hatch popped open.) After much pulling and digging, she was freed, and a new desire for larger tires and a lift came over me.
Mines gonna past 200,000 by the end of this week. Just over 199,750 miles. I don't think it'll make it more than 201,000 though, but I didn't think it would make it this far either so I will probably be proven wrong. The engine has taken more abuse than I thought it would. The only two things that have stopped it so far are several seizes from overheating, and me killing the battery more than once. So far I have been able to just let it cool down, or replace/ jump the battery, and it starts right back up as if nothing happened. I love it, it probably hates me.
My gf and me are in a race now. My 96 had 214k and her 2000 has ~210K. My 1st XJ is a 96 that i gave her (which was her 1st XJ too) has 188K but has bad trans. That is our project together to turn into a trail rig so we both can do wheeling in separate jeeps, she doesnt want to beat up hers cause i'm not always around to fix it.
