88 limited had 230K miles when i scraped it, its motor is now a 4.5L in a YJ
My gf 96 has 180K and when i drove it, i drove it really hard but is a pile of rust
Current 95 has 210K and is the most quite 4.0 ive ever heard.
These are great motors but they do have a design flaw. Every one I've taken apart has worn out rod bearings and that creates the 4.0 sound we can recognize from across a parking lot. I dont totally understand why

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago. It's a 96' with just over 252K. I bought it hopeing it would last thru the coming winter, but who knows it runs great and now I'm thinking at least two or three years is very doable.
Update! I took mine offroading a couple of Sunday's ago and on the way home the clutch pedal went to the floor and it looks like the clutch is done. It should be back on the road in a few days and racking up more miles.
Im sitting at 207,000 and some change.. I have no doubt that I will hit 300,000 miles on this thing.. I am hoping for a lot more!
Does anyone here remember the old Toyota commercials where they would show people and their Toyotas that had 300k miles or more?? one guy had a pickup that he had put a million miles on... a lady had a corolla with 500k on it...
I was just thinking the other day about how many miles I had on my XJ and I was wondering if it would be possible to hit the million mile mark with it... Im going to give it my best shot!!
One thing I would say for this thread, is that in order to have "braggin rights" you at least need to have the ORIGINAL engine with NO REBUILDS on it...
