Bought mine because it fits me (as a person, not physically or anything) perfectly. It was a good amount of power, 4x4, backseat (used to drive a reg. cab Ranger), decent cargo space, solid front axle, American made, has all the creature comforts, again, I used to drive a reg. cab ranger that barley had seats, and there are plenty of aftermarket, and custom options. Also fits my personality a bit. A bit rugged, but still comfortable on the streets, always reliable, dependable and such.

I got mine because my F-150 that I had at the time got about 10mpg...and my dad had a '79 Wagoneer and an '86 XJ when I was little...plus i wanted something that could haul more than 1-2 other people. Too bad it was 2wd, but I took care of that.

Many years ago (1991) I bought a 1974 CJ-5. I loved it. Restored it and its break-in was t oget on the freeway in Long Beach, Ca and drive non-stop to Seattle. It didn't survive.

I've been missing being in the Jeep crowd ever since. When we moved to Utah there was a 95 ZJ for sale up the road from us and I needed a vehicle. I convinced my wife that it would be perfect. It was.

Then I got a job doing road side assistance using my own vehicle. Boss said he wouldn't pay for gas on a V-8. Even though I could gingerly push 19mpg out of it.

Traded my beloved ZJ off on a Geo Tracker. What a POS. Killed that thing in a month. Found someone who thought it was a diamond in the rough that wanted to trade me his XJ for it. I signed the title on the spot and we swapped keys.

How it looked shortly after I brought it home:

And how it looks now :

Still got a long way to go, but it's done over 15,000 miles in the last two months for me...

Got sick of driving my TJ without a back window, and a tear in in my top( drove like that for a whole year ). I had learned how to drive on my fathers 5spd 87 xj and had always wanted one since he traded it in. So I put the TJ in the garage as a project and stumbled across my 5spd up-country on craigslist. Right price, original owner, it was mine in ten minutes. I felt like I was in a maybach coming from the TJ!!! Power everything, a stereo I could hear etc. Not to mention it earned its place the first night I drove to work. I pulled up to a road that is prone to being washed out, road closed signs blah, blah...And this thing had water rolling over the hood and it just went right through it with me laughin and slappin the dash the whole way!!! Gave me a reason to work on it as well ( changed diff fluid, just to be safe! ) Anyway, I plan on keepin both my jeeps for the rest of my life, something breaks I'll do whatever I have to do to fix them. I'd be perfectly happy if these were to be the last vehicles I ever owned...
