Hell that is pretty awesome looking. I do feel bad for the guy because he is never going to get anything near 20 grand for that.

Those are not torsion bars. Torsion bars are on the front of IFS equipped cars and trucks.

The "long arms" on this Jeep are traction bars.

Thing looks like a JC Whitney bolt-on wet dream. I bet he sat at home, late at night, all alone and thought of things he could attch to his Xj to make it 'look' BA!

I vote for settting it on fire and cooking hot dogs (kosher of course) over its ashes.

I just laughed when I read this read. All you guys thinking that your so smart about long arms with leaf springs. Your just as stupid as you thought he was.

HAHAHA great thread. hate to get in the middle of it but i have to throw in my .02 on the block talk.

Yes great observation, full size trucks do have blocks. Compare the max payload of an F-150 to an XJ... thats why you dont see them on smaller suvs (XJ) with leaf springs.
BUT If you have spent $3K on a suspension system and your rear end sits an inch lower than the front I say throw in some 1" block and never let anyone on JF know about it. Shims are nothing more than angled blocks.

why not use a lift shackle instead of a block? (this is in response to the post above)

Im wondering why anyone hasnt pointed out the homemade drag link and tie rod.
look at how the stab is hooked up

sorry I was assuming that some of the hypothetical 3K spent on suspension went to shackles.

Shackles are definitely a better route than blocks....
