there's a difference between a full size truck leaf and a cherokee's leaf, the difference is about 1/4" light truck (cherokee) springs are a lot easier to warp and break. Plus that's what 6" of blocks? imagine what would happen if someone wheeled that thing. The blocks pounding and twisting the leaves. Its kind of like puting a pipe wrench on the center of your spring pack and then twisting it.

The swing arm/traction bar or whatever, is legitimate, and once you get to 10" or whatever this poser is at, you probably need it.

This is definitely an extreme mall crawler.

How the hell do you spend $40,000 on a Cherokee? and end up with this? I guess he had every part installed by the most expensive shop in NY. Is it just me or is he still running a d30/8.25 combo? Did anyone noticec the exhaust going above the leaves?

from the picture it almost looks like 2 sets of 2" blocks stacked on top of eachother . . .if you look at the drivers side block setup it looks like theres a seam between the 2 of them.is this just a manufacturing mark or is it really 2 blocks?

i think it looks kinda cool. i dont think i would ever take it offroading or anything but id definately drive it around town. i would have to change out the rear for either 8 inch life springs or a 4 link set up and i would not spend 20 grand on it

see this thing once in awhile. never thought he would be selling it. and those lift blocks aren't horrible compared to what I see usually on LI. There are PLEANTY of beater F150's, 250's, and even ram's that have lift blocks that are LITERLY 8" at least.
this guys lift blocks are prob 4-5", which yeah isn't that good, but heck it makes it bigger. and with that high of a suspension, the blocks don't really effect the ride that much.

20k is a ****load of money though

The inside was a bit messy with all the switches and wires running everywhere...That's just me, I like to try and hide my wires better and place my switch all in the same area.

Did I cite that I was talking about the Jeep this thread is referring to? No, I didn't but it seems the general consensus here is that everyone hates blocks, but a very small number have ever actually dealt with them. I think most of the experienced members here will agree when I say that blocks that are of reasonable size under a very good set of a leaf springs are perfectly suitable.

I totally agree with you man. EricsXJ runs a one inch block on his rig. It's not that bad at all.

My opinion after running 2 inch blocks for 4 weeks is that they are crap. Horrible.

Then again, my opinion comes from running them on my old sagging factory springs.

Those are torsion bars to prevent spring wrap. It's not like 8" leaf packs are all that expensive too...If you're going to do something like that, atleast put forward another $400 and do it correctly...

someone should e-mail the guy a link to this thread.

I don't think blocks are entirely bad, you could probably use up to 2", but they aren't going to give you the best performance, If I buy a beater, I'll probably use a 1" block to help level it out.

If I spend 20 Grand on a mall crawler, I'd expect it to have more than lift blocks.
