Checked oil and tranny fluid... I need to drain and fill the tranny fluid this week. I also was bored and poked around in the engine compartment... found the build day number on my engine. 105mx01. Nears as I can tell from reading that it means it was built on may 1st 2001. 1 (year code) 05 (month code) mx (engine code) 01 (day code). Now I can celebrate the engines birthday! lol.

I also discovered that carb cleaner works great for drying up motor oil, because I sprayed it on the badge plate to read the number, and ended up using it on the whole half of the block and it dried up all the oil in a minute. Now I can monitor the suspected headgasket oil seepage. Near as I can tell thats where all the oil is coming from, but its been 4000K miles since my last oil change and its only short a half quart or so, so its not very fast... and no puddles.

Oh, and I assume it is supposed to be this way.. but to make sure... Is this what the upper control arms are supposed to look like? I couldn't find a good picture online.

Champion truck plugs FTW. I have found that our 4.0 tractor motors like the cheap stuff.

Did you have the codes pulled? That would be my first step.

Did the cab corner cut, installed my duel CB whips, finished welding and painting my frame stiffeners, started construction my "from scratch" crossmember, started welding the mounting points my "riot shields" for the windows and I sketched up my new front bumper on a post it note.

Drove to church, on my way home, passed by the local Honda dealer. They had a nice toy I wouldn't mind having.

2006 Wrangler X. Lifted, bigger tires, bead locks, custom front bumpers, and who knows. I like it, but not 20k like.
