You're probably going to have to use 2/3 relays, I wouldn't want to run 4 hellas off of 1 single relay. How many watts is each of them??

Essentially though, you'll want to ground the coil of the relays on tab 85, and run a switched power (I suggest tapping off the ignition key on source so they only come on when the ignitions on... and then through a switch and to the coil powers of the relays on tab 86.

Run terminal 30 of each relay with proper gauge wire, (I suggest 12) to a fused connection to the battery. Try and get the fuse close to the battery, its safer like that

Run terminal 87 to individual pairs of lights. E.g. one relay only hooks up to two lights.

Oh yeah, and don't forget to ground the lights to a GOOD ground source or you'll end up with dim/flickering/non-operative lights
Thats wiring in a nutshell... sorta
if the lights are under 90 watts each you would be able to run it on one relay (380 watts is the most you can run through a 30 amp relay on 12 volt) if you got a 50 or 70 amp relay you would be well in the clear with pretty much any lights probably... that all being said whats the fun in having 4 lights like that on one switch

how do you do that on the 01 with the stupid *** coil pack?

so far I have unsrewed the coil pack and pulled it back but I cant get it out with all the hoses in the way.
do you take those out too..

this seams alot harder then it should
the lines are just clipped in and you can pop the clip off to push them out of the way mostly

Oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil or seeing a crack in the head.

I went to the junkyard today in search of a factory fog light switch and I have probably searched through 40 different jeep and none of them came with it. Was this thing a rare option or something. And I found out where all the 5 speed Xjs are. They are all hiding in the junkyard. Every time I go to the junkyard there are at least 2-5 new 5 speed xjs there.

Crappy oil pressure, steam coming out of the exhaust (especially on warm up), coolant in your oil and vice versa, rough idle, smelly exhaust, and more I can't particularly think of.

I thought mine was cracked cause of my unpredictable oil pressure but it was just a pressure sensor switch and I switched to synthetics and all my problems dissapeared

well I have rough idle after I let it sit for 20 minutes after driving, my exhaust does smell sometimes but its not like WTF is that, my coolant looks dark but not oily, and my oil is clean,

rough idle after you turn it off and sit? sounds more like vapor lock in your injectors, there was a recall that was for the I6 on other vehicles yet not on the XJs, usually its on the #3 cylinder, you just need an insulation on it. i had gotten codes of multiple random misfires, it only happened one day when it was kinda warm out, really rough idle after start, but kicked it self out of the system after a few mins.

honestly you shouldnt get much oil in your coolant since the coolant is pressurized and the area it passes through in the head does not have pressurized oil.

Yes, this is something I need to do. I am taking mine into my mechanic, his buddy there does a lot of the alignments, and has done 4WD stuff. Plus he owned an XJ for years and knows the setup.

Actually he saw mine and was like..."man I need another one of those...".

Another re-convert!!
