Does that have anything to do with the actual oil pressure? I was thinking it was just sending the signal to the dash gauge. If it DOES then I'll run out and pick up a new one today.

It does send the signal to the dash gauge. But if its not sending the right signal than the gauge won't show the correct pressure

This is why you do one side at a time. So you have a reference

and I'm saying that I KNOW the pressure is low when it warms up, because that's when the knock starts, so I need to find the cause.

from my limited knowledge on this, usually if you ager getting those sounds its going to be an issue with not enough lube going to the rods and bearings and if that happen you can kill the motor. your pump might be screwed up or something, idk, but i wouldnt just drive it around until you figure it out

right....that's because after it's warmed up I lose oil pressure at idle. I'm just looking for other people that have had similar issues and what they did to fix or what might be causing this.
