Learned a very important lesson today. When you are 59 years old and not in the best shape to begin with do not hang a front skid by yourself. It is up with the mat but whoa. Gas tank skid was easy cause I could balance it on my jack.

So I finally button everything up. Get the battery tray back in and the battery. Go to start the Jeep, hasn't ran in about 2 weeks, and there is this loud screching. Alt froze up. Funny thing is the reason I decided to remove and reinstall the battery box was so if and when I do the alt upgrade and better battery cables I could access it from the top. You have to remember I have a front skid now so down below is out. I had grabbed an alt out of a '00 Xj at the boneyard about a month ago and brought it to my guy to see what he could do with the amps. He thinks he can pump a stock XJ alt up to about 150 amps. Before you tell me to get a GC or Durango one my objective is for it to be a straight bolt in. Anyway so I had it lying around and decided to see if it worked. No idea one way or the other. Well it does. Going to put away tools, shower, and take a ride. With my fingers crossed.

I finally put plates on it. Dmv was being a pain in the ***, first po signed title on the wrong line. They wouldn't issue a new title, call po back get him to sign correct line. Back to dmv and ooops we should have told you you'll also have to sign this piece of paper that said p.o. signed wrong line with the po again. Between holidays and other summer activities took a minute to get this all done. Gonna drive it to work tomorrow fix the a.c. and start with an oil change. And a good look over. Steering wheel is off center but drives straight and tires though pretty worn are wearing evenly. Hopefully not too much is wrong with it other then that. I know it has some leaks and other things like center console bracket, and rear view mirror that feel off when I went to gas it up today, but can't wait to get this thing in shape and start driving it everyday.

For the rearview mirror, I always go to a auto glass shop and have them use one of their 2-sided tape adhesives. Its the cleanest application and they work!

S8ng8t. Sorry I don't know how to quote a post on tapatalk. Thanks but I have some stuff at work that works great. It's the stuff that the glass company our dealer uses to replace windshields told us they use. I've done dozens and never had one come back. We charge 100 bucks to stick it back on too so if it fell off they would be back.

Do you actually have people that'll pay the $100?! I've gotten it done for free over a dozen times in the last 20yrs.

Oh yeah. Some don't but most do. It's a dealership, it's all about money and nothing is free. We are also just outside of Chicago so our prices may be a little higher then other places but nothing is cheap in Chicago. Hell just city stickers for your windshield are 150 a year.

That^ shot reminds me of wheeling in the Snowy Range northwest-ish of Cheyene , Wyoming .

Great use of a nice looking 4X4 .

1995 Cherokee Country .

Goes around , comes around .

I am so glad i live in Arkansas when i read stuff like this. On topic though, i am debating on getting the mj running again for a dd. It needs a radiator(not going back to closed system), fuel pump(got an xj tank that i will probably use due to the fact i know one of my gauges will work then), mirrors(#$!@ trees) and tags. Still cheaper then trying to buy something else.

Its not too bad I work there but live at the edge of farm country. My city sticker is 15 dollars. Literally 5 min. Drive there's nothing but farms. I grew up in the city but didn't want my kids to. It's a bit of a drive but life is better out here.

I love seeing nothing but farmland. I also love no inspection on vehicles. If i get the mj tagged it will only cost me $26 a year.

I will never pay registration again. The Jeep is in good enough shape to make permanent tags worth it.

Before and after of carpet cleaning

The previous owner didn't take good care of this Heep. There were obvious spills as well as rust and mold. Took out the carpet, pressure washed, scrubbed with Dawn, pressure washed again. All in all I'm out about $8 total and an hour of time. Hope the pictures come through okay!

Nice when you put in that effort and it comes out that clean though.
