The current one I have is from Advanced Auto, replaced a little over a year ago under warranty; personally that has made me question the quality of this particular battery. My Xj is totally stock...no winch, light bar, upgraded headlights or anything that I can think of that would cause the battery to fail early. I've checked all the grounds, especially the wiring I have on the push start and nothing jumps out at me as to why I'm dealing with having to buy a new battery.
If you went with the silver series that may be why it failed kinda fast. I noticed we warranty more of our silver batteries than our gold series, which I run and haven't had any issues yet.

Our Interstate dealer sells returns, may be worth looking into. Usually about $40-50. I ran the Gold series, got 4 years out of it, with no accessories, not to shabby in my book. But I don't live in the ***** *** cold either. Matter of fact today I enjoyed 70 and sunshine.

Heck...my ex-hubby's 88 Mustang Notchback still has the same battery that was in it when he bought it 10 years ago; it's outlasted the motor, which blew in November. Yes, I know that quality in some items has significantly gone down over the past few years but surely there is a solid mid-range battery that will suit my cranky brat of a Jeep needs. At this point I'm simply tired of dealing with yet another problem this cranky teenager and want her to run smoothly for a little while.

That being said...I drove the Xj to work last night and holy crap was it a sketchy ride on the icy roads; the morning ride home was worse. The road in my neighborhood was a solid sheet of ice and to get to my house I have to negotiate a curve that has taken out several vehicles...should have stayed home.

Whelp took $30 flares. Turned it into a $100transmission and transfer case. Took the $100 and turned it into a pair of $225 doors. Took the $225 doors and got a $450 hardtop, rollbar, 4.2l motor, grill, hood and box of parts. So sold the top for $450. Bought myself a new iPhone. Not too shabby for jeep flips.

Got rear ended on the way home today.

Doesn't look too bad, but I bet it's totaled.

I would hook a chain to that hitch and pull it straight as possible before the claim people arrive...

Nice. I don't even need them right now but I'm tempted to grab a pair and stash them until I do.

I am thinking the same thing as bluejunior. Does Timken make two models? The good and the better? I always figured I would buy the Napa ones when the time came. Not the cheaper ones. Not sure who makes these.

https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p...?interchange=1

But the better ones made by SKF.

I don't see where it specifies the years applicable. Would these work on a '96 non-abs?

Nope this is for the last couple years. The 96 has different hubs, I believe due to different rotors.

Asking for a buddy.

1999 XJ

Blower blows full blast but air doesn't come out any of the vents. Not even the defrost. Any ideas?
