Tell me about it... Trying to convince my parents to let me spend MY money on the Jeep is like talking to a brick wall. They ***** and moan about every dime I spend on it. They simply do not get it

As for what I did today; I crawled underneath and tried to figure out where my mystery clunk is. Front end- steering related I'm pretty sure. Happens sometimes when turning and sometimes when I hit a good bump and the suspension compresses. Has me pretty well stumped because sometimes it does it and other times it doesn't. Still not sure where it's coming from exactly... but I am narrowing it down
I have the same clunk, I think mine might be a dry ball joint or worn universals. As for a mod, I herculined it last night.

jcr bumper came today..just an hour after i got back from my camping trip. gonna run down to work and pick up some new bracket bolts and get some herculiner and hopefully get it finished up and on. ups guy came and i went outside to take get it off the truck for him and he went back and got it and was like "what the hell is this? damn that thing is heavy!" and i was like "its a bumper for my jeep" and he was like "i thought thos things were supposed to be light and plastic." i laughed and told him what it was and apparently he just got a stock xj and didnt know much about them and i think hes got the jeep bug now because he started asking me what else he can do to make it better..

bumper pics

damn

gettin prepped for herc

had to drive down to the shop where my friend works and get him to use his impact on the heat shield bolts that held in the stock nut plate. ended up having to get the hole widened to get the plate out to get the broken studs out

gave the bare metal a little paint

herc'd and painted

on

well, forgot to tighten the bolts for the tie-ins before i put on the bumper and i ended up using one of the tie-in bolts that connects the brackets to the bumper in the frame so its to short so my next day off ill be taking the bumper off and getting the tie-ins right and giving the herc a 2nd coat.

thats all for now

Good looking addition Aircruiser

I hope to get that bumper next summer if the money is there. Skids are going to have to come before it though

yeah it sagged the back about 1/2" but after the lift, itll be about even (getting full packs) and once the front bumper comes, it might be nose heavy but might settle a little after that to even again and if it gets to low, i might do a 1" puck and 1.5" shackle to get it back to about 3.5" to 4"..
