Maybe that's the difference of knowing what you're doing .

It'd probably take me a couple hours or so . But then , I like to take my time , too .
And , I've never done that mod , so ...

New rear brakes and lift gate assist.

Drum brakes are the worst.

I'd love to post pics but jeepforum is so out of date that standard phone pics are too large to upload.

If it takes you a couple hours to plug in 5 plug and play connections and connect two wires to a battery terminal you might want to just go ahead and get rid of your jeep.

There's that knowing what you're doing thing , again .

I didn't know if it was 5 or 50 connectors .

And besides , I'm retired and can take a couple days to do that 5 minute job , if I want . I just have to be careful that I don't forget what it was I started to do 4 days ago .

Even if you've never done it there's not much to figure out about it. If you've ever changed the headlights on your Jeep then you already know how to do it.

Learn something new , every day .

If I'd ever have trouble with the headlights , I suppose I'd find out soon enough .

I never had to change a headlight , but I had to remove one in order to release a stuck hood catch . That probably wouldn't count though .

I was thinking about putting one of those on my XJ but i cant find one for a reasonable price.

I spray painted the outside of my tank skid matte black and went ahead and hit the leafs while I was at it! since I'm in the aesthetics mood I think after my next pay day I'll be buying a couple of cans of silver spray paint and hitting the stock wheels with a coat or 2. Trying to revive them to a former glory

Yeah, sometimes it works out that way. I have one of the best jobs of all time!

They keep me around in case something breaks. When everything is running well, they leave me to my own devices. As long as I'm ready to "hit 'er hard" when needed, they don't care what I do on my graveyards (days are a different story).

Tonight however, I've been all kinda busy. Jeep will have to wait.

Some of the Shift Millwrights sit and read all night, but I had to go and buy an XJ! If it's not on a forum or in a Service Manual, I'm not getting much reading done.

RE: the headlight harness mod, if you have not done this one yet, by all means DO IT! The drive in tonight showed just how pathetic the original headlight wiring really was. This has to rate as one of the best low-$ mods of all time!

E-codes are in the future, had 'em on a couple of rigs in the past and they really are that much better.

I probably shouldn't curse myself by saying this, but my rig is doing well, so I'll be digging into this one today. Fuel pump, filter, oil change, plugs, wires, rotor and cap.

I gotta get the rear tire off too, it seems to be somewhat welded to the drum.
