My XJ has become a slug, and I really don't care...except when I'm in the hills.

Scampy still took 2nd in my Division (33" and less) during an 4WD obstacle course challenge at the hillbilly mud drags today. Worth 75 bucks and a silver plaque I'll never actually put on my vehicle.

Yeah i guess the gearing wasn't part of the package. But thats not to say that this has a different ratio than most other xjs. Now im gonna have to actually check it one of these days. Thanks guys

Local PD here has a "police Jeep" XJ, in that it is fully decaled up for the PD's use (they burn that thing up in winter). However it is just the same as any other XJ. Something to consider is that XJ's were widely used by the government for many things, and our particular police Jeep is nothing more than a standard SE base Jeep pulled off auction and stickered up. Id say many towns do this as well.

Point is that not all police Jeeps may be a legit police package. All technicalities aside, its still cool. The LEO that drives the XJ here also owns a small gun shop I frequent. Been trying to talk him into letting me do a small lift and 31s haha.

On topic, a little over a week ago I did a thorough flush of the whole cooling system, CLR'd the heater core, etc. Put some hours on it and tore it all back down again. The first flush was full of cruddy ****, heater core had been hoarding up gunk over the years, heat was lukewarm at best.

This flush still had some gunk but not much. Topped coolant back off and everythings been great. Heat is nothing short of violent now.

Also, been clearing some woods behind the house to cut a trail, and used the Jeep to mow down a few trees.

Had an FJ Cruiser tag along with my Jeep club over the weekend and he made a grave mistake that may have cost him a new 1GR-FE

I am guessing he never installed the snorkel right because it stalled out and when we recovered it he had water in the cylinders. Pulled the plugs and turned it over to drain the water out but some of the FJ's electronics got wet. All the ATRAC computers and sensors are in the cetner console and he had water in the cab up to the console at one point, the tires locked up and wouldnt free spin and they couldnt get the engine started. My Jeep club is going back out there today and trying to tow whats left of his FJ back to the highway...as our group was leaving last night they saw a group of teenagers heading down to the river so it may not be good...
