Sounds like a problem with the shop rather than the inspection process. Ive never had anything but bad experiences with any Firestone Ive been too.

Do you put them back on every night? I'm currently moving In to a place that I no longer have a shop to put it in. I do have a carport but its wide open so now thieves can just have at it (not the best apartment complex near). Just a pain all they could really steal easily would be my subs might build a cage for them.

My window rolled down but not up last night, powers fine and I'm thinking its the motor. Anyone? The widow has been weak on and off for a while.

Yeah I just throw em back on. Takes 5 min per door. Much easier than loosing all my tools and stereo

Bumper lookin tough. Nice work Vegas!


As for my stupid broken XJ today, looked into rest of parts for WJ swap since my front brakes seized up Saturday (as I was supposed to be on the way to wheeling event). Total is about $500 for everything right now and I am really debating if it's worth the money going into a D30. That also does not include any steering parts.

Need to do something since these brakes aren't going to hold out.

Thanks guys! I cant take much credit, I jus ordered em and welded it on. Plenty of guys out there running Dirtbound's hoop setup. Probably for good reason though, offers the most protection for the header while still being relatively compact. Plus I just think it looks cool as hell haha.

Guess what I found today..... I've been searching high and low for the last couple of weeks and I finally found another High Pinion Dana 44 out of a 1979 F250. It was at the bottom of a pile of axles a local wrecking yard. The guy was sure he didn't have one. I searched through about 30 axles and almost gave up. At the last minute I noticed something with trees and alders growing up through it. I said, Hmm, I think thats the axle I am looking for. I cut the bushed down and sure enough it was exactly what I wanted. An exact match to my existing axle.

I went back in the office and grabbed the guy and took him out to the pile. He said $200 and it's yours.

I'm going to go the full monty on this axle. Knuckle to knuckle axle truss, Reid Racing outer knuckles, Flat top high steer arms, RCV shafts, Ruff Stuff brackets and cover, PCS hydraulic ram and 5.38 gears. I'll have some money tied up in it when it's all done but I won't have to wory about my front axle any more. Should be pretty solid when I'm done.
