What's crazy and why do you need o2 sensors to pass an inspection here? There's no emissions outside a handful of counties/cities near DC and our inspection overall is pretty lax compared to most states.

My brakes build pressure when it's off, but whm you turn it on they go mushy.... I'm not understanding new master cylinder pads are good.

So with the engine off you have solid brakes, but when running it mushy?

I haven't been following along but im going to assume there is still air in the lines somewhere, bleed the bajesus out of them.

I've bled them and bled them, a little hole ago I saw one of my bolts that hold my passenger caliper has snapped... So maybe the slack is causing crappy pressure. I need an easy out.

Motor..my check engine light is on because the downstream sensor literally came apart; that's why it won't pass inspection. I've never lived in a state that does their inspections like Virginia does, last year she failed because of one broken exhaust hanger and a burned out back up light bulb.

So what are they saying you fail on? They can't fail you over a check engine light and the o2 sensor isn't part of the requirements for VSI, it's only required to be operational for emissions testing which nowhere near the beach requires. The only way they can fail you for it is if it's causing an exhaust leak. The only warning light they can fail you over here is an airbag light being on. Look up reviews of shops before you take it anywhere, it sounds like they're trying to bull**** you into buying more than you need. Most places will pass you as long as your lights work and your tires and brakes pass.

So started the truck up today, fuel gauge read 1/4 tank. Drove to school, maybe 5 miles in to the trip gauge reads 1/2 tank. Drive a little more needle keeps creeping up lol. Went all the way to full then back down all the way to empty. Then just kept kinda bouncing around. Put 20 bucks in it (crappy gas station) seems to be working now.

I'd go with a good used craigslist engine. Sometimes the engines are still in the Jeep and you can hear them run. I see you have a 2000, any issues with the head cracking?

Motor...I'm just amazed at this state and how they do inspections. I usually go to Firestone for alignments (lifetime) and inspections, it took an hour last year and they failed me for the light and hanger. On the report it also stated my tre's were worn out (no wobble of any kind in the suspension), shocks were bad and my rotors needed replacement. Shocks are new, rotors are 2 years old...they quoted me $900 to do the work. Uh..I'll pass. This year I'm taking her to my the place my guy goes to...as long as I've got 4 tires and the lights work I'm good.

Started ticking slightly on my way home like it was low on oil, but no change in pressure or any dummy lights came on. Only reason I knew my engine quit was because I felt the power steering disappear. 157k on the engine.

Pulling the heads today after work, already have the manifolds off. So far they seem ok, all of the push rods and rocker arms are just fine.

Going to try to get a loan first, and go from there. If I get one, I'll buy a tow rig/DD and start looking into building a stroker.
