I still think you're under geared for 38's with a 4.0, I've built a few mud buggies and pick ups in my day growing up in south Florida and 4.10 were minimum even with v8's

Maybe slightly under geared but not much i can assure you. A friend has the same basic setup in a TJ except he has a 5 speed. We installed the 4:1 gear in his 231. Big mistake. The 4:1 with 4.10 gears and 38.5 boggers is way too low. Cant whip the tires over nearly as good without shifting.

Keep in mind that boggers dont measure out. My 38.5's barely measure over 37". At least thats what mine measure.

Is the cel on? Check your throttle position sensor. That's what you're problem sounds like to me. I've had a few go bad.

Started to try and straighten up my pinch seam from the weekends trail damage. Not gonna be as easy as I had hoped, the hit was so focused to the area that theres about a 4 inch wide section were the pinch seam is completely flattened underneath, couldnt even tell where the bend should be. Im just gonna have to start cutting out sheetmetal and do the best I can.

This has inspired me to be more proactive in the future, as the 2x6 rocker replacement would have gone much smoother if BOTH my rockers were straight already.

I had the same issue. I figured it out tonight while pumpin gas. The clamp on the tre on the tie rod was ever so slightly loose. Cause the tre and tie rod threads to move 1/32" and cause slop. I tightened the hell outta it and jeep drives normal again. Just something to look into. Extremely happy to have it fixed and driving properly!
