Yeah i know. Honestly it dosent really bother me because its mechanically sound and reliable. However it bothers other people greatly which i really dont understand lol. And i kinda made a build thread a long time ago but theres nothing in it haha. One day I'll sit down and actually make one, mainly because my dad would like to see it as sort of a timeline thing. And you should definatly build a DD MJ. I would hate to see how clean that would be if your trail rig looks like the way it does

Question, I put a used hatch on my xj after the old one got fubared. Now my open hatch light in the gauge cluster won't cut off, anything Ivan disconnect to make it cut off!

Cool stuff guys. I like all of the updates.

For me, I went hunting this past week in the XJ. Great trip with my son in law and his dad. We got a Moose and some Caribou. We had an awesome trip and the XJ performed awesome. Better than I even expected. We went through terrain a brand new Polaris Ranger 6X on 27" mud lites didn't even dare to go.

Bullwinkle mounted on the roof rack. I will post some more pictures in my thread.

Perhaps the hatch you used doesn't have all the options your Jeep has. There may be a sensor you still need to retrieve from your old hatch.

Hadn't done anything with my 97 for a while...2 weeks ago, got a hair up my butt and sold it to buy another. Picked up a 96 Classic, typical Chrysler paint, interior in really good shape, body straight with just a few normal dings, 3" RE lift, 31" BFG AT's & swaybar disconnects. Immediate plans - skid plates, at least up front & under fuel tank...tow hooks up front (suggestions? Looking at the Iron Rock kit at the moment). Bumpers and side armor hopefully soon. My boy approves of the purchase...as soon as we got in it to drive it home, first thing outta his mouth "when we taking it 4wheeling Daddy?" LOL

The sensor could very well be part of the latch. I don't know for sure, just throwing that out there.

I suppose you could pull your cluster and remove the bulb...

I almost feel like that would be easier than tearing the hatch down again
