Bought it a snorkel, 100$ from a local club member, is not name brand or anything but it feels solid and looks good.

I know I'm late to the Toyota discussion but I parked next to this pretty well setup FJ tonight. The funniest part is that I watched the driver take the same picture as he was leaving the restaurant. I could probably find the pic on an FJ forum

I thought it was fast too. And actually that was with u joints on the front shaft too. I dont remember the cost off hand but i remember it wasnt all that much considering the spicer greaseables and how quick it was done.

I took the serpentine belt off today to try to narrow down this noise. So with the belt off the noise is still there but quieter. This tells me its somewhere inside but it runs like a clock. I dont know what to think. It sounds like a constant tap, and appears to be coming from the front, lower portion of the block. However i assume it could be coming from anywhere. And on a side note the new crank shaft seal i put in is leaking.

Might as well do an 8.8, it's stronger. Unless you can get the yota axle for free or close to it

I don't know about that, the toy axle can take 40s in stock form, and makes the 8.8 looks like **** as far as clearance
