I had heard they were lower quality now. Glad I got mine before the "Canadians" screwed that up too. Idk if it was Canadians. I was just reflecting.
Mexico is where they are made now.

I drove the xj for the first time since February today!

I did a few slow projects to it since then. I re-did the floors, cut out the rockers and replaced with 2x6 box tubing for sliders, new battery terminals, v8 zj steering, replaced trac bar bushing, wheel bearing and a new u joint.

Thanks man! I'm hoping it looks just as good once I put the extender on... I want to put a Hi lift and shovel up there but it's only ~41 inches as is

Moved it from where it's been sitting for a month. Used my dads f250 to pull it up the driveway and steer it back down into the garage to work on brakes and driveshafts. Not anything cool but it was exciting for me lol

I didn't do much but I did order new plates. I generally trailer everywhere but I do have it licensed and insured just in case i have to drive on pavement in an emergency or drive around the neighborhood. I would hate to get a $300 ticket for driving on a public road without Registration and Ins.

Here is a picture my new plates.

Today a probably 12ish year old girl gave me the peace sign when i drove by. Not really sure if she just had awesome taste for a preteen girl, or my truck is someone appealing to that generation... Soo yeah might as well drive a barbie jeep.
