Usually if they been messed with the numbers won't line up normally.

could also have just swapped in a low mileage gauge cluster. but in all likely hood its probably legit unless you have reason to think otherwise. There isnt much to gain form screwing with the mileage, its an XJ, not some rare car where absurdly low miles would really raise asking price.

I have no reason to assume its not the actual mileage. It was a dpw truck that most likely git retired since it was 20+ years old and the body was beat. Doubt the people in charge of the auction were trying to get anything for it.

Don't go to the dark side! It can't be better than MI winter.

Well, I WOULD be putting my bumper on and starting unibody tie-ins but the weather sucks. The rubber undercoating I used on the inside didn't seems to stick well in a few places, so I'll probably touch that up.

'00 XJ not quite there..

winter here doesn't really start until January normally, its still humid, normal day is in the high 60s to low 50s, at night it can get down into the high 20s on rare occasions but for the most part will be around the 40s at night. It rains less often and in lesser amounts, it hasn't snowed here since 89.
