I installed my new roof rack and waited for paint to dry. So i can mount my hi lift jack up in there

Before

After

I used U-bolts to attach my shovel and axe to the rack and then i got a snazzy lock to secure them to the rack

I think i put a hitch on in record time for an xj, especially having no nut strip installed on the drivers side. 15 minutes said and done.

well it leaked before too, i just never got to see how much since it all soaked into the carpet and started making rust. only places i know it collects is by my feet and same for the passengers side. still raining, hopefully it lets up after school so i can dry it out before work.

picked up a front shaft from the JY for less than $24. while i was there i found an axle shaft laying around, noticed it was rather large so i counted the splines and there were 35! this thing was humongous. i also picked up the flange adapter, which wasnt cheap, but was recommended over spicer by the driveshaft shop i got it from since its greasable and uses a SS ball. i washed it as well.

heres the axle compared to the driveshaft

no i didnt. it wasnt near the other axle, or even a truck for that matter. it was by the ford aerostars. lol. but it does tell me that some vehicles came with 35 spline shafts stock, which i hear is rare so i thought it was cool i found one.

Finally fixed a nuisance problem from the PO that was really bugging me. The lock pin for the driver door check strap had fallen out or was removed and the PO dropped in a bolt that "clicked" every time you opened or closed the door. Today I dug through the parts bin and found a spring steel roll pin that was the right diameter and replaced the annoying bolt. Works great and now I wonder why I didn't fix it a long time ago!!!

Lets see here i put new hood latches and a release cable in, and also debugged a wiring issue with my running lights, and took it for the the first road test.
