^^ Blue Seas Systems, I sell 'em at work (West Marine). Great product guys I'm tellin ya. Its a bit of an investment but well worth it IMO. Won't corrode on ya and the plastic won't deteriorate. Has a decent heat rating and is UV resistant, even though its under your hood... He got the one with a grounding bus up top but they can be gotten without one which is better for a car because usually you don't have to run gnd wires back to the battery in a car... On the same topic of marine stuff, not advertising here but I reccomend marine grade stuff for electrical supplies. Find your local marine store and just check out the electrical wire, Ancor Marine makes some of my favorite wire, its very pliable, plenty of copper (tinned to deter corrosion) and the jacket is very comfortable and feels well made. Ancor connectors are also made well too and crimp real easily and hold much better than the el cheapo autozone or radioshack ones and won't corrode in your engine bay
speaking of XJ batterys, why is it all the XJs I see have lawnmower batterys practically in them. The tray is big enough to handle like a group 24 or something but mine is just way undersized and the one in above pics is small.... No harm in going up a size as long as it fits in the tray, eh?
I drove my XJ today and I left late so I had to keep up with the aggressive traffic/rush hour drivers. My gas tank didnt like that but the tranny was in shifting heaven haha.

I got the one with the ground bus because I plan on running the grounds for my high-output headlight harness back to there. That's my next step, wiring lights.
I also noticed how small the batter is compared to the space available. Strange

the battery is probably small cause that is all that is needed for it to be stock, but jeep knew people didnt like stock jeeps and would probably want to go bigger. saves them money and keeps the customers just happy enough

That's one upgrade you will never regret. I loved every second of mine when I drove my 92. (It still feels weird to say this. )

I found the biggest battery that would fit in the tray and then went one size bigger. Had to hack out the tray a bit, but I got an extra 200CCAs for free!

You'll probably have yours done before I do then. But, I've had them on cars in the past and they've made a difference. I'm building mine from scratch so it won't be a simple plug-n-play harness.

XJ specs 660CCAs. That's a pretty big battery
My Speedo and tach gauges are crapping out randomly
A search revealed that a dying battery will do that. Mines small
