Passed emissions!!!

Fixed tail light, attempted yet again to fix reverse lights and left turn signal with no prevail... Pretty sure it is a wiring problem so I am just going to rewire the left blinker and reverse lights. Oh, and a cop tried to pull me over but i switched lanes and turned and he couldnt get over in time!

Raced a Ford Ranger on the highway because the driver looked at me funny and laughed at something on my rig. My Jeep really doesn't like to go fast

Several weeks ago I installed a Valley Roof top basket which mounts to the existing cross bars of my 200 XJ. Today I added two more crossbars for added strength and wow! what a difference. The look is just as impressive due to the style of the 97 to 01 rack. Pictures may be available in a day or two. The best part was that I scored the crossbars from an ad on Craig's List for a six pack of Pacifico (Mexican Beer). After looking for a pair of crossbars at the local pic-a-part and on Ebay with no luck, it was like winning the lottery. Well not quite but still cool.

Well I just bought my 97 XJ last week for $1000 with some bad oil leaks and a check engine light on.

Today I replaced the valve cover gasket...not a big deal to most but it sure stressed me out having never done much mechanical stuff before but it was way simpler than I made myself think it would be.

And... its just the start of my fixing all the leaks in my new to me XJ project...

tomorrow I'm going to start to attempt the rear main seal and oil pan gasket... then after that the transmission pan...

Then finally I need to figure out how to get to and remove the oil filter adapter and figure out what gaskets or o-rings that thing uses as its leaking as well.

Replaced O2 sensor. Found a wire that a mouse chewed and fixed that. Also put a check valve on the lines to feed the vacuum disco on the front axle. So 4WD does not drop out when accelerating.
