What brand of shocks should I get?

I'm bringing my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport back to life and I desperately need need new shocks.

Everything is stock and I want a smoother ride that will hold up to these horrible Detroit streets.

I've never done shocks before so I'm not to sure what to get.

Any suggestions would be awesome

I would buy Bilsteins or KYB's for OEM sizes.
