Warn M800 Gambling.

I'm in the market to buy a warn m8000 winch. They're listed on the warn website for 1200$, and there is no way i'm going to pay that.

I found it on amazon, and the price keeps fluctuating. It just hit 539.94, then you get a 50$ rebate making it $489.94. It was $608.19 yesterday. I'm waiting this one out to see if it continues to go down, but if you are looking for a winch this is seriously a good deal.

Just thought i'd put the word out there.

Just make sure the Amazon seller is legit. Don't take their amazon score at it's face value, google the actual seller. I've seen sellers on Amazons that are garbage with 5 star scores because they black mail customers into removing bad reviews to receive good returns.

It won't go much. if any, lower than that - this is the bottom. Great price if it is legit.

"Ships from and sold by Amazon.com."

It comes directly from amazon. It's even prime eligible. I could have it at my doorstep Monday if i ordered it right now and paid 3.99 for overnight shipping.

I'd buy from somebody that is easy to track down for the warrenty. As if it will break! My M8000 runs like a Rolex. I got mine for 599 I think? That was days before warn came out with the VR series, and I would be amazed to see that price again

The M8000 is a great winch, I've owned one in the past and sold it when I was getting out of the hobby. 6months later I found myself in another Jeep kicking myself in the as for selling the winch. IIRC I bought it a winch depot for $529 shipped but that was back around 2004

I am now using a XRC8 Comp Series

What price? The 539 i'm looking at? I'm really thinking about buying one of these right now even though i don't have the winch bumper yet. Good prices don't come around too often. Amazon is actually quite easy to get a hold of, and if i did need to get it fixed i'd go directly through warn.

I was going to get the VR1200 (it's like the price of the M8000), but i think it's just a cheaper made winch. I was looking at the M12000 as well, but that thing is still about 1200$ on amazon.

I do believe the M8000 is plenty enough for anything i'll ever get my XJ into.

I was thinking about getting a winch from a different company (i've heard nothing but good about Smittybuild) but all the old-timers i talk to say it's worth the extra money to get a warn. They say they're made in the USA and will work when you need them to work.

Just saying I would be surprised if you could get it for less than the VR series, if you think its not a risk I would jump on the price. And yes, the M8000 is more than enough for any Jeep anywhere. Put a snatch block on it and pull the Jeep straight up a cliff.

Don't bother with the 10k 12k BS anyways, there are just lower geared winches, same power less linespeed (unless you start looking at the 8247s). A snatchblock is better if you need more power.

The S/B is a great winch I talked trash about them but they have proven to be a hard winch to beat asfar as bang for the buck . I was debating on my XRC8 Comp, or the VR8000. I went for the XRC cause I know it is just as reliable as a M8000 an I got a Synthetic Rope with the winch so that would have cost more for the warn to get that.

I've worked in this Offroad industry for a few years , I dislike most S/B stuff but their winches are hard to beat so thats why I have one and not another warn.

Oh the VR8000 and M8000 are pretty much the same according to the warn rep the only difference is the VR series is designed for shorter pull periods where the M8000 and handle more long pulls

Be surprised if i could get an M8000 for less than a VR8000? It's currently only 10$ apart.

Although this is going to be mounted on my Jeep, i'm going to be using it for many purposes. I always help my dad cut down trees and i think this would be a good aid in pulling down and pulling logs out of the woods. This is one of the reasons i thought i might need a 12k over an 8k, but i think with the snatch block as you said i should be fine.

At this price, for another 10$ i could get the M8000 over the VR8000. I'd be stupid to get the VR.

I've used the M8000 to pull down trees without a snatchblock, problem is, on the really big trees the Jeep doesnt weigh enough and locked in 4lo it gets pulled forward. Ive tried jamming rocks ect but the winch will just drag it threw/over whatever I put in the tires. Now, if you were in a situation where you could chain the back of the jeep to another tree or your parked on rocks/roots you might have a shot

Hey i forgot to ask.

When you are using the M8000 on your jeep, how is your voltage affected? Have you needed to put in a new alternator or what?

Cheaper Price than Amazon!

I was also in the market for a M8000 and found a better deal than amazon. I bought mine through streetside auto.

Their price is $539.94 but by entering the coupon code AFQ21230 you get an automatic $30 off.

If you want to pickup a few more things to make your order total over $600 use AFQ21260 and get $60 off. I arrived in 4 days in perfect condition.

$459.94 after rebate....Can't go wrong!!
