Stopped by the house on lunch to get a look at my current mounts. They dont appear to be as bad as I had envisioned. Ive seen pics of them crumbling to pieces and these dont really look that way. It almost looks like theres a gap up top, hard to tell though.

Thoughts?? Ive got a ride scheduled for mid April, planned to have rockers done and a Solid diff cover by then. Think I could put mounts on the backburner for a couple months? Or should I go ahead and replace? The IRO mounts are about the same money as the diff cover. Both will get done, just trying to pick which first. Im honestly leaning toward the cover for now (mines had a rough life) and then mounts after the next ride. Second opinions welcome.

Get the cover then the mounts. Gearing is $$ postponing that is nice.

Yor DS motor mount looks like it;s got a run or two left on it... MAYBE... I wouldn't put that off for TOO much longer...
But I agree... get the diff cover, and THEN the motor mounts... who knows maybe in the next month you'll get a wild hair to build your own....

I wouldn't be concerned with either of those mounts. Get your rockers going

that's what mine looked like before i changed them, totally worth it. get a pry in the passenger side from under your jeep abd push between the frame rail and the moutn and watch how much your motor moves from side to side.

Just to throw in my 2 cents:

After wheeling a few times with my stiffeners I had the pleasure of replacing my radiator because my fan chopped into it. Granted, the ZJ fan clutch I had in there brought it forward more than stock but it still had good clearance. The worn out rubber factory mm's gave too much. I went ahead and swapped in Brown Dog poly mounts while my cooling system was outta the way.

The stocker mounts looked okay when I took them out but evidently looks aren't everything. The BrownDogs are without a doubt more beefy and solid over the puny oem mounts. BDs aren't the only option out there but they are relatively cheap, US made, offer a JeepForum discount, and pretty easy to swap.

IMO you should hold off on the rockers, swap in better motor mounts, and buy some diff covers - which Solid covers are just that: solid; and they're inexpensive.

Wow, thanks for all the advice and insight guys!

All 3 of these things WILL be getting done, and sooner than later.

That said, I'll probably put the motor mounts and diff cover ahead of the rocker replacement for the short term. Ideally Id like to have rockers done too before the mid April ride but in the event money gets tight and I cant make that happen Ive tried to break it down into necessities to make the choice for me.

Considering the trip to WBR is about 2 hour round trip, and that I drive mine down there, the whole theme of things has been to try and slowly eliminate potential failures that could affect my commute back home. A factory D30 cover with a gaping hole in it could complicate things, as could the motor shifting over just far enough in the wrong way to dig into the radiator.

Compared to those things, the rockers arent quite as high on priorities, but still right there with them. Worse case scenario, I dont get them done by that trip and just smash a sheetmetal rocker Im cutting out anyway. If it gets into the door even better, gives me an excuse to trim the doors and go up with the tube even farther. Glass half full.
