Thanks man! Still no chrome DP tho haha.

And Spokes, in that pic it kinda looks like they are smaller but in person the tires look huge in comparison to the Eccos. I guess Im so used to seeing them wrapped in 235s, and so used to seeing 35+ on steelies lol.

Also got my stiffys here:

Right now, I'm at 37 pieces of bare/polished dp. But I have 7 more pieces that'll cover more surface area than all the others combined, and those will be black.

Damn thats a lot of DP lol. The black should help break it up a bit tho.

I went ahead and put the spacers on last night. They are beautifully machined pieces and matched up to the BP and hub bore of the wheel absolutely perfect. I spent time wire brushing the mating surface and torqued them to spec making about 3 star pattern rounds around the lugs.

The Eccos are 15x7 with 5.25" backspacing, so by my figures the 1.5" spacers should have sit the tires out of the wheel wells exactly the same as my 15x8 Cragars with 4" backspacing. And they did so Im happy.

BTW running these tires on the Eccos without spacers was not going to be an option for any length of time. I forgot to snag a pic but the thick sidewalls of my Hankooks rubbed the leafs at anything more than sitting still on level ground.

On the spacers I see theres a lip around the hub. Does that lip still fit in the center of the rims?

Yes, these spacers are Jeep specific and the lip perfectly matches the hub bore of the wheel.

Did you remember to loctite the spacer bolts?
If not... I would consider doing this before you drive too much more.

Yes i did, just forgot to mention that. I still intend to be pretty religious about pulling the wheels off and checking torque on them periodically until I give them my trust. Ive ran spacers before with no issues but I wasnt satisfied until I put a few miles on them, checked torque, and repeated it periodically. Thats a good habit to get into anyway, spacers or not.

Indeed!
I ran spacers on my Ravines for a while. Really like the difference in stance.
I have nothing against them, and as long as they're hub centric, and I'm not already running a wheel with little back spacing, i'd run them again.

Yep!

This may be in my head but the Jeep feels a little peppier now, cant say how factual that is though. There is a definite weight difference between the Eccos and Cragars. Even with 235s on the Eccos they still felt lighter than the steelies without tires. Didnt weigh them or anything so we will call this theoretical science for now.

I dig it man. I didn't think it was possible for me to envy your XJ any more than I already did. Wanna donate and ship those black steelies?

I've been running Spidertrax 1.5" spacers on the WK for about 2 years now. Check torque at every tire rotation. Thousands of miles driven/wheeled/towed - zero issues. They are not the evil, catastrophic, disaster waiting to happen that some would have you believe.

Are there examples of failure? Surely.

Did anyone running Firestone tires expect them to blowout for no reason?

Well put. Its just another thing to add into my regular service routine, no different than checking/changing fluids, tire rotation, etc.

Theres a hell of a lot more things required to be torqued to spec and checked on when installing a lift kit than there is spacers, but you dont see anybody shunning lifts.
