Probably best just to commit to a wheel well size and have them be a "flare" for that size

Yea kinda what I was thinking. Gonna have to check with my steel supplier, Ill probably use 1.5" HREW for the "flares". Dont really see any sense in dropping the extra coin for DOM in this application.

Why not do DOM if it'll be part of a cage later on?

Because I may very well use HREW for the cage as well. Plenty of HREW cages over on Pirate that are holding up great, its really more about design and triangulation than material. A poorly designed DOM cage can be significantly weaker than a more thought out HREW cage

That said, Im not doing poop pipe or anything haha.

No you cant do tube connecting to your bumpers from yoiur sliders!! Thats been my plan for the past year. My thread can't be a mirror image of yours! If only I had my tool shop up in VT with me I could get a few steps ahead of you

Better hurry!!! Haha jk itll still be a little while, Ive got other non-Jeep things Id like to buy before I pick up tube.

Since we arent too far from my wheeling off-season (WBR's offseason that is), I believe Im going to finally start building the 1/10 replica of my rig like my cousin's SCX10 pictured here. Should keep me entertained for the winter.

My plans are a simple hybrid.
From the front bumper to the roof following the body lines, up the A pillar x over the roof tieing into HD offroad no lift relo brackets And tie the roof into the D&C fab interior cage.

IRFLOPPROOF

For the money it is. I'm doing it over the winter when I figure out my motor build plans.

Could be done in a day really, most of my time was spent coming up with bracing leg design and cutting it out. Once I had bracing legs and 2x6 cut and capped it all went fast. I just drug it out cause I only worked on it a little bit on select days after work.
