Got a little bit of work started this afternoon.

Got shocks installed:

Noticed I got some rubbing at full lock in reverse. Went ahead and starting pulling inner fenders out for good.

Thats as far as Ive gotten today. I got burgers to grille and tasty adult beverage to consume.

As far as the plan, Ill be pulling the flares off to trim them in that area and repaint them in black bedliner. Will also be trimming sheetmetal under there to match the cut on the flare. Basically be taking it a couple inches straight back by the pinch seam and blending to in an effort to make the flare still look somewhat untouched.

Still a lot to do before next weekend. Jeep will likely be sitting til then. Ill be cruising in the pimp white Corolla in the background up there til then.

Ok back at it. Whew theres a part of me that really wants to just do a mild trim and say eff the flares. I think the biggest thing I hate about the trimmed look is how unfinished it looks with a stock bumper. But i do have that Dirtbound bumper comin... hmmm gna be a tough call.

Opinions on my situation anyone? Ima do some thinkin on it tonight. Im just worried the 32s will look smallish then but they are pretty beefy still so Idk.

Imagine my DBOR bumper is on and it looks badass from the front this way lol.

Im running RE 4.5" coils and add a leaf + 1" shackle, with 32x11.50s. Mine is on the lowish side for 4.5" tho, my 4.5" RC on my last red XJ was noticeably taller.

Haha I know I know! I might do my trimming on the flares a bit and throw em on to wheel at a lil spot around here and see if it rubs. I just went ahead and pulled my front bumper in prep for the DBOR front.

Only rubbed at full lock backing up, and possibly only one direction lol. Are you saying you ran brand new 32" MT's on 2" lift with your flares and did not rub?

And Weeder, you are partially right lol. But mainly I want do the minimum necessary to make it work. If I go full on trim I know whats next. "ohhh I got all kinds of room, MOAARR TIRE!" and then the cycle goes on lol.

How do you like those shocks .. I'm running them now too, before I had the cheap rough country ones and I think I may have liked the cheap ones better????
