Are you stripping the paint off first?

Not all the way. The parts I took to bare metal had rust.

Need to take care of the two rust spots on the opposite side and the hood tomorrow early AM (like 7 or 8), then prime those areas.

Since I'm rolling it on I don't think I am going to completely tape up the windows and such like I normally would, just 2" masking tape on the weatherstrip flared outwards to enjoy no drippage onto the windows, though I haven't decided yet.

Also need to take the roof cross members off and the hi-lift + mount.

If all goes well I should be painting by 2pm saturday at the latest. If I get delayed I will paint morning/afternoon.

Pic heavy.

Dis assembly:

Girlfriend helping tape up the windows:

Hood sanded:

Hood primed:

Rear quarters had to be fixed:

Unfortunately the paint won't be here til Monday, which means paint won't happen til next weekend.

Still fixing as much of the body as I can. Just got done sanding the roof.

Project car status:

Whole XJ is primed and taped off, since they're calling for rain I put the tarp over it so I don't have to re-tape it off later.

Holes for vents, I have mesh to go behind the holes then these will go over the holes when I get them:

This is honestly the first time I went about fixing the body the right way (besides the doors). I knew how to do it but never had to time nor the desire to fix a rig up to great shape.

Last night I fixed the four holes in the bottom of my header panel (along with the cracks on the left side) as you can see in this pic:

Painting starts tomorrow morning. Will post pics along the way.

Depending on how this goes for you, I may have to do something like this at the end of the summer. It sure beats the hell out of a factory color in a rattle can.
