God you need a welder

Absolutely not. Bending it back is a terrible choice imo because of the amount of stress that mount gets, bending rusty metal is going to make it weaker, even with the new welds. Instead it would just crack in a different spot.

I'm not happy about it, but $150 to have new mounts on both sides of the axle is a damn good deal.

A welder is coming, I just need to find a used one on craigslist or something.

I think this summer I am going to re-coat the underside. This time instead of Chassis Saver I am going to use Mastercoat, apparently this is the stuff they use to coat steel bridges and all sort of craziness.

Yes. 101" is enough for up to 37" tires at least. Why stretch?

Right? Just walked outside on my break and was looking at the mount some more. It really needs to be next Tuesday like now. I don't like the way it's on there at all and don't particularly feel safe driving it.

The bilsteins are amazing. Especially with the new control arms on, it rides great and I barely feel anything on the road. It'll be even nice once the alignment is done and the tiny bit of bumpsteer that is left is solved.

Still, it will never be as strong as a new set of mounts in comparison.

e: Plus if they **** up and over heat my axle and it causes me to break a shaft or something, guess who's paying for it? The shop, lol.

I dunno what the weathers like up there, but you could probably get another axle with spare shafts in it for a lot less than $150. But old stock mounts on an old stock axle will never be as strong as that new stuff your having welded on.

95 Limited Chargold ZJ 5.2L -5.5" lift (IRO, Ironman, and RC parts), 33" BFG M/T's, 15x8 procomp crawlers, 242 swap, 2 12" subs, 1000w amp, cherry bomb, full skid package, Kevins rear stealth bumper clone w 3/4" D rings, Rlcwelding front bumper w 3/8" D rings, XRC-8, front tow hooks, 2 daylighter fairlead lights, 2 daylighter windsheild lights, 2 55w driving lights, OBA, Cobra 18 CB, dual 4' whips, RC disconnects, smittybuilt jack, optima yellowtop.

I'm fairly certain that axles go for a little be less at the local jy with me pulling it, and with the weather about to get crappy, and no way to take off work, it's not worth it.
