DUUUUUDDDE NOOOO, man youve got one of the most interesting builds on here....You cant sell!!!! I know where your coming from though....Ive got a 14 month year old and the xj is just becoming to impractical....mpg...o and NO AC! Im actually looking into a car now....but anyways, i guess good luck with the whole thing. Keep up posted.
Well, it's already begun. I've sold my Adj. Track Bar, Warn T-case skid and I have a trade lined up to get a stock rear bumper w/ brackets + some $$ from a buddy of mine for my Nates bumper. Sorry louisd11. I've also purchased some stock tail lights to replace my custom ones (yes they will be for sale), plus I scored a rear hitch and some Canyon rims for $90!! Now I just need to find some decent 31s to mount to 'em so I can keep my set up for the TJ. For now my rock rails and GTS (money talks ) will stay b/c I plan on wheelin' it at least once more before it's gone.
you will have to find the right buyer..personally..i wouldnt buy an already built jeep. youd have to find someone who wants a ready-to-wheel rig. just something to think about *cough* trader *cough*
i agree with that. the TJ i buy will be a stocker, but there are some who what the rig w/o the blood, sweat and frustration that goes with it. Hell, I already have someone interested in it, but I'm not ready to sell quite yet.
like i would be jealous of a tj. just get a 2 door xj and call it good.
Well, I'm not going to get into a tit for tat battle over a TJ vs. XJ. They both have there place and I respect both, but I want what I want and so be it. If it will help you sleep better at night, I plan on getting another XJ to keep around as a 3rd vehicle and yes, I will mod it a little as well. I already have ideas in mind, but a TJ will come first.
You should have tried to find a buyer looking for a built truck... Could have saved someone a lot of effort and money and you'd know it was going to get good use. How much do you think someone is going to pay for a beat up old stock XJ that has gone through the rigors of wheeling but has no upgrades to show for it? What you did was switch your buyer base from enthusiasts, to regular people who have no idea what an XJ even is and aren't going to value it over a Chevy Blazer or something. Either one will do fine for a kid's driving to school car, but the Blazer costs $1000 and Chevy's are more reliable than Jeeps according to Consumer Reports!
Edit: I like your goal for the Wrangler a lot! Huge tires and little lift makes sense because you can cut them up so easily. They're almost like open wheel race cars
