i bought mine straight from a trusted dealer (sounds like an oxymoron but my dad bought his xj from the same place 11 years ago). had a carfax for the whole 201,000 miles. it was owned by an older guy that babied it. religous oil changes, diff fluid changes, anything you could ask for.

only thing i wish they wouldve told me? that jeeps are as addictive as crack.

On the '87 MJ, the PO was the original owner and a good friend/neighbor of mine. Took care of it like a baby, and even had a smooth original Peugot 5-speed in there at 180k. Too bad a drunk wrecked it (pic in sig)

On the current '88 MJ, I wish he had told me the entire AC system was shot and wasn't a simple recharge. That the cooling system needed a complete overhaul....that power steering was on it's last legs....etc. I could go on...However, at 129k on the clock and running strong and a almost perfect body w/ some very slight surface rust on the bed I'm more than happy, especially for $1,000.

Wasn't in it. Was sleeping in my bed when I heard a crunch so I ran outside. Apparently a drunk idiot in a "brand new" 04 Galant was going 50-60mph in a 35mph and took the turn too quick, flew across the yard and T-boned the manche. Sent it rolling into my neighbors front yard.... Least another comanche came out of it with the money I got..

So the PO forgot a few things. First was that the drivers seat was broken and reclines without the lever. Next the A/C didnt turn on period (big minus in Miami). The drivers window wont roll back up if rolled down too far (had to pull the panel off the first night i had it to push the window back up). The headunit wasnt held in by anything, it just sits there. The rear drivers side door only opens if you have "the magic touch". He replaced the windshield and he used silicone and duct tape to hold it in and seal it (somewhat fixed that). There was a squeak behind the dash that began after about 15 mins of driving (that mysteriously went away after the lift). And finaly the right spring perch on the fron axle had rusted full through (found that out durring the lift but my friend had a spare D30 after his D44 swap so i used that). Other than all that its an awesome ride and i wouldnt trade it for anything.

Door pins broken on driver side
serpentine belt needs replaced
All 3 passenger windows don't work
right front speaker out
damage to right front
Got it from a dealership. Realized this before I bought but they fixed the first two anyway.
