SWEET New White Cherokee Limted

Just picked up a 1998 Cherokee Limited, 1 owner with only 46k miles.

Options:
SelecTrac
Side Steps
ABS
LSD (i think)
Overhead Console
Wood Grain Dash
Leather
Power Seats

GOD I love these last model XJ's!!

Never seen one with side steps. Didn't know that was an option. The only ones we see around here are the sports and the classics, and most of those don't even have rocker panels anymore!

84-96 had their own form of steps as well--also very uncommon.

Yep, and they didn't look anywhere near that good. I've never seen the stock 97+ ones til now.

I wonder if those would make rockers last a bit longer on a rust belt XJ. I would think they would, since the salty slush would hit those steps first instead of the rockers directly.

Generally, cars with running boards rot faster around here. Probably because the running boards create more nooks/crannies for salt and moisture to creep into and get stuck. I can't comment on XJ's specifically, however--XJ's with running boards are too uncommon for me to have seen many around here during my lifetime.
