Stock roof rack to light bar

so basically i didnt feel like spending $100+ on a name brand light bar, so i decided to just put some holes in my stock roof rack bar to mount some lights.
the lights i ordered come in tomorrow, so i'll get pics of them mounted asap!

I'd be interested in seeing detailed pics of your wiring. I've been thinking about doing this and other then the "run them through the door" I haven't been able to find a good way to do it, so I've put it off...

definitely.
my plan is to simply drill a hole, insert a gromet, silicone it up, and run it under the headliner.
should be leak free, my only concern would be the wires burnin up my headliner
ill have all this done tomorrow so pics will be up soon

this is what i am using to transfer the wiring into the cabin. it goes through the roof. the wire goes through the cabin behind molding through the firewall. i bought two one for the positive one for the neg.

helps that i dont have a headline. but i am sure that can be arranged to work.

If you look at the snorkel intake, that blue tube has my wires in it. I actually have lights in the back too and run the wires to the front lights along the rack and then down the snorkel and down the weather stripping to the bottom and then in. I know that it is a ZJ but the XJ will be getting it when the money is around.

the second pic didnt work... but basically, you have to drill and seal that plastic thing into the roof, then use solid eyes on the end of your wiring to connect each side? right? Sounds like a solid idea... No chance of snagging a wire and pulling your silicone seal loose...

CB antenna mounts work like that, too. And they sure as hell are stout enough to handle the current of a couple 55W off road lights...

well, I'm against drilling the roof, however I do have the ceiling readout/shades carrier inside so if can find a way to waterproof it, I could do that and keep a clean interior. Still debating.
