Split ball joint boot repair

refer to this thread for more info:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/...lp-me-1532654/

I cannot understand why no one makes "specific" poly replacement BJ boots for the jeep cherokee. In any event to replace my split upper right side boot on my Raybestos Ball joint that I just put in last year, I bought a "close fit" Energy boot and trimmed it down 10mm to the same height as my split boot. Hopefully this one will last longer than 1 year.

'96 Cherokee Country, Magnaflow cat and Borla exhaust, Hella 550's, Up Country suspension, Michelin MS 2's in 235x15 and Edelbrock IAS shocks. 91K orig. miles - the wife uses it ('cept when I borrow it to go huntin').
