i never said it was in it right now.

and i did use it to dig a little hill for my sebring back when i had it when the tire sunk in some mud in a parking lot and i got stuck back in september.

Honestly, the two times I went and played up at my buddies cabin all I brought was a tow strap. Too lazy to get organized and bring anything else.

although i dont bring spare parts, i do have the following if i do get stuck:

-Masterlock
-Broken fortune cookie
-Pair of bajas
-50ft of wiring, with assorted terminals and connections
-Factory Manual
-Marching Snare Drum
-Thermal Blanket
-Mag light
-OEM bottle jack
-Haynes Manual
-Ratchet set up to 13mm
-Tennis Racket
-Tow Strap rated to like 300lbs
-Language arts binder from last school year
-Hella Light Covers
-Electrical Tape
-Drywall Pieces
-Screwdriver
-Butane Microtorch
-Wire Crimper/cutter/stipper
-OEM Lug nut wrench that doesnt fit any of my McGard Lugs
-Broken Cardboard box
-Assortment of broken wood shavings
-Picture of me making a funny face

Lets say that i am very well prepared for who the hell knows what...and yes that is what i currently have in the back of my jeep.

Simple but effective list...

-Tow Strap
-"Mini" Maglight
-Pickaxe/shovel all in one kit
-Rags
-Fluids
-Basic Socket Tool set w/ extra screw driver and bits

I know I'm forgetting a bunch....

Oh and I rarely "wheel" this comanche...

um, axle shafts, driveshaft, ujoint caps/ujoints, at least 1 unitbearing, full size spare, usually at least 1 steering linkage among the group, so on and so forth

i cant believe none of you guys bring any kind of spare jeep part wheeling...

I need something better for carrying the larger parts like the 3 axle shafts, front shaft and stuff. Using a few garbage bags and duct tape isnt cutting it any more... I also need more stuff... like tire plugs, U joints, stuff others always end up needing on the trail if not myself. I dont always take everything, depends on where Im going and who Im going with. Wheeling with some folks in this thread would only require a light loadout

Since someone mentioned bottle jacks, what's a good one that goes high enough for an XJ?? I bought one of these but I realized that 16" height isn't enough to even use on the frame rails on a stock XJ, and with bigger tires is useless for the axles. Is it necessary to go up to a huge 12 ton jack?
