So a few days ago I took the old faded trim off the doors of my 2001 XJ. That all went pretty well, accept that I can't seem to get the adhesive stuff to come off! I've used Goo Gone & a few other cleaners, as well as a plastic scrapper, but I can't get it clean!
I Just posted a topic about taking trim and leftover tape off...search my posts...BUT if you want the direct answer, ERASER WHEEL does the trick...30min to take both sides adn remove leftover tape crap. (heres the link)
I slid a butter knife in mine at the corner enough to get it out far enough to grab it with some pliers and just yanked til I could get a good hold on it.
x2 on the thumb approach. Damn sure won't harm the paint. Your thumbs will hurt like crazy afterward though...
