SO,I had a 99 GRAND CHEROKEE LOADED...

LAREDO 4.0. 151000 MILES....VERY,VERY CLEAN AND I SOLD IT.I bought a 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT with 171000 miles on it. No leather,no power seats no sunroof or heated seats... but it's more my style! I don't know what it is but the box Jeep is my favorite. The thing has rusty rockers, rust on the roof and door but it runs good and everything works! Am i NUTS?? LOL.

Keep an eye on the temps. Don't let an 00-01 overheat

The 2000 / 2001 Cherokees had the same 0331 "problem head" as the 99/00/01 Grand Cherokee 4.0s

Don't overheat and stash $ away for a new head. It's a design flaw and there's nothing you can really do about it.

Lower temp thermostat, high flow water pump, good cooling system flush and well maintained cooling system components.

At the same time if you add all that and do a 784 injector swap you won't ever deal with the injector heat soak issue either.

160 stat? What's stock on these things? I mean,it's got 171000 on it.I'm only probably going to drive it in the snow in winter back and forth to work etc. Minimal use other then that.I have a couple of other cars for the other seasons. lol.
