Actually I figured out what the problem was. the low pinion and high pinion stock covers put the fill hole in different spots. On my 99 the RC guard blocks the fill plug, on my FIL's 2000 (LP) he has access to his.

I had problems with my locker "popping" and it was due to the fluid level being too low due to the position of the fill plug. The Solid cover has the hole raised and no more popping from the locker.

I'm very happy with the new look too.
