Should I buy a XJ or a WJ?

I am looking to replace my ZJ. I would be replacing it with another ZJ but I cant find one with low enough miles for the right price. So I have decided to go with either a XJ or a WJ im leaning towards the XJ because they are cheaper to build up but im also leaning toward a WJ because I love my ZJ and im assuming it would be like owning a rounder ZJ.Besides the coil springs in the WJ and the Leaf/Coils in the XJ what are some things that would make one or the other the better one to buy?

i had a ZJ sister has a WJ and i now have an XJ as a wheeling truck and i like the XJ the best for what it is. the WJ seems like the placed stuff in the truck more for women and the seats SUCK. the WJ and the ZJ rode the same XJ little diffrent but not drastic. I would buy the lowest mileage jeep in your price range. also what are you looking to do, if you plan on offroading any more then a trail ride or 2, XJ all the way the WJs shape and style dosent lend them to easy wheeling. if its a DD and limited trails either works.

Its gonna be a daily driver and a trail rig. Nothing extreme probably a 3" to 4.5" lift so I can wheel it and hit trails. Is there a huge cargo area difference between the XJ and the ZJ because I work out of my ZJ and have to put a lot of stuff in it.Im leaning towards the XJ anyway but wanted to hear thoughts or people who actually own an Xj so thanks for the advice. Also is there any year of XJ thats better?

WJ's are for girly men. I had a ZJ and loved the ride, but the XJ is way more fun.

I wheel with a guy who has a WJ and it does great. I would personally get an XJ if it was between the 2, but the WJ has bigger motor options The XJ just appears to be more of a trail vehicle than a WJ, although on the trails a good driver wont be affected by that. O and you can get XJ's in a standard which would be the deciding factor for me!

What do you guys think about this XJ I found it near me and the owner is willing to trade it for my ZJ which im getting rid of because of the high miles I figure I could have this and just buy a nicer jeep for a daily driver

I have both, and there is no difference in cargo area. The WJ rides better for sure, but the xj is way more fun to drive. My wife drives the WJ=Wife's jeep. As for the jeep in the link, I just hope the guys mechanical skills are better than his spelling.

Yeah I have seen the jeep wheeled because he is near me and it does great and it seems to run great its just ugly.I might get this and buy a newer more comfortable something or other as my family is fighting me on getting another jeep that rides rough and it too tall.

Probably a stupid question but what years of Cherokees have ABS or do they all have em. Im looking at these two now.

This one has a bad interior but low miles

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/887286959.html

This one has higher miles but is in a little better shape

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/888256523.html

I can get either one for 2200, any thoughts on these? Thanks

Im probably gonna get the Green XJ for my DD and im gonna mildly build it up. I only considered the maroon XJ becaue I could use it as a strictly trail rig and the guy wants to trade me even for my ZJ which im having a hard time selling and I was planning on getting an XJ that had seen better days to experiment with some mods and things I have read about on here anyway.........but IDK im still looking for my five hundred dollar XJ

those prices seem WAY to high! I bought my 99 with 130,000 miles on it for $3000. Keep looking. I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for either of them. I always prefer to buy something that is totally stock over something that's been lifted 1) so i know it's done right and 2) so i know it hasn't been abused.
