Nope, don't plan on selling ANYTIME soon. A vehicle with 4WD that can get 18-20mpg is awesome. Definitely a must during the winter up here in MN. Ironically enough, the Xj is the economy car.

My 99 lifted, locked, regeared, big mud tired XJ is my daily driver for my 70 mile commute and I would not swap it, unless I had the lifetime warranty on my 07 JK.

I am selling my cherokee, but not because of gas prices, I drive my XJ daily because its better on gas than my truck is, and more fun to drive than my truck, everyone has a truck not everyone has a cherokee.

I will say that once mine is sold I am going to buy another one, just going to go a little larger than my current one, and I do not want to destroy a perfectly good Jeep.

Gas is 4.75 here.

I stay off the throttle, and don't drive much.

I get about 17 mpg, and no, I'll never sell it.

I'm thinking about an old bug as a DD.

Yeah I'll never sell it either, with the $$ I've put in, plus being paid off and not having a payment for so long. Well going back to a payment, no way.

Yes gas prices SUCK, but I do stay off the pedal big time. When driving to the beach, I do go about 65 now though vs 75 before.

Makes a huge difference

im 17, have a part time job pulling an average of 45 hours a week. all the higher gas prices do is slow down how soon i get my next mod.

If I dont beat on it, I can get about 30mpg on the interstate in my wrx and maybe 20 or so in the jeep. having no car payment is definately worth the extra price of gas

It's comforting to see so many guys sticking w/ the ol' XJ inspite of costs. Mine 2 is the "economy vehicle" in the family, with 2 big ol' V8's & a built CJ7.

Hey my sweet 16 still turns heads ... that's more than I can say for the 3 years new (Commander).

But I did just go and buy a Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel... it gets better gas mileage than my XJ.

And we still have our little comuter car that gets 35 mpg.
I love my XJ also and I Love my 2004 Dodge Diesel, on 35's. Great truck.

^ New Dodge trucks really are huge. I like 'em.

And being on topic, my jeep is already paid off so I wouldn't sell it. Too much fun. But with gas prices as they are that just means the fun gets limited. In the next year or so after I save some cash I will finance a nice car. The jeep will go when I go.

My 93 isn't my DD (especially during the summer). Luckily for me, it's gone beyond any kind of resale value, so i wouldn't even think about selling it.

I have a little commuter car that is the main putt putt vehicle. Then the minvan for kid transport duty.

Been seriously thinking about a bike though. I've had a sport bike and a harley. Been looking at the newer sportsters. If gas ever hits $5 a gallon, I'm getting a bike.

i wouldnt sell it. way i see it is i drive about 15000 miles a year which for me is about 1000 gallons of gas and over $4000 dollars in gas alone. i could easily buy a cheap commuter that gets twice the mileage and add it to the insurance all for less than just paying for gas for the jeep. if anything, thats what i would do
