Selling my 90 and buying an 87??

I was look at selling my 1990 Cherokee pioneer for a 87 Cherokee because it's a 5spd what's the main differences between them they both have 6inch rough country lifts with 35s but was there and differences made between 87-90?

They are both renix. I believe 87 had options for a different motor not sure. Nothing different if they are both 4.0

i think most 87s came with a d44

^^^^ Some, not most. Only if it had a factory tow package. Which is why those 44s are so damned expensive.

they will be nearly identical minus stuff like interior color options and what not. but mechanically and electronically they are the same. minus the potential D44

Completely stock, and keeping it that way...

Okay.. What's the best lift to go with for the most flex I've only ever lifted jeeps with rough country lift kits..?

Keep in mind that the 87 has the C101 wiring connector mounted on the firewall above the brake booster that your 90 does not have. I suggest unbolting the 2 halves, picking out all the tar crap in there, spraying and flushing with contact cleaner, use a pick to tighten the female connectors, liberally apply dielectric grease and bolt it back together.
