Scooty Puff Senior, "The Doom Bringer" build thread.
I have had this poor thing for years. I let my inlaws borrow it for a while, and got it back in less than happy condition. But she has always been a trooper and I love it. Even though I have had TJ's, YJ's, ZJ's, and a few other XJ's. Plus some Full Size rigs as well, this one has always been around and faithful. Plus reliable as a Anvil. So, here are some pictures. It's gonna be a long slow funds limited build, but who knows, should be fun. The body has been modified by rocks, tree's, porta pottys, signs, and other Jeeps. Here goes.
Got my Build Sheet today. The guy I got this Jeep from was a missionary. He said his church shipped him and the XJ to Africa back in the 90's. I don't know how true this is, but according to him the Jeep spent quite a bit of time over seas. I am going to run a Car Fax one day to see if I can confirm this. The gentleman was nice, but a bit old and odd. His home was built into the side of a hill, kinda a fancy cave lol. Cool guy but very odd. I swapped a old 4 banger Dakota for it. He really wanted one to haul trash with. The Jeep was all stock when I got it, paint was VERY faded but other than that very solid. I have wheeled the piss outta the poor thing. But it is time to build it up to something nice. It will not be a hard core off road rig, it has already done that. It's gonna be a DD with an expedition type build. Camping and Zombie Apocalypse type of vehicle. :p

Stuck some freebie 33"s and rims on there today. Max speed 35 due to them all being soo badly worn and out of balance, not to mention one half full of water. Gonna keep the rims, ditch the tires. More eventually.

Just picked up a set of 31"s Pro Comp Mud Terrains with over half tread and a good tread spare mud terrain for $75, gonna get em mounted tomorrow. Will throw up pics tomorrow. Anyone want the old 33's? If not I'm leaving them at the tire shop in Landrum when I get em swapped, they would all make decent spares, hell one had OK tread.
