Removing carpet. Does it increase road noise?

To those of you who have removed the carpet and lined your floors with bedliner;

Does it increase road noise a lot?

I'm thinking about ripping the carpet out because of rust.

Worth It

If you got leaks and rust. Yes pull it out and bed line it! I couldnt take the smell everytime it rained! Noisy but you can get used to it! Plus its an XJ. I hear noises all the time even when I had the carpet.

Yes, it increases it a lot, but that shouldn't stop you from removing it to repair the rust.

Fix the rust, bedline it and put the carpet back in. If the carpets in bad shape Team Cherokee sells factory replacement carpet for like $250.
