I guess I jacked it up then, because I didn't do either of those things. It didn't get used much, but it was 4 years old and I never disconnected it. I have no complaints about the battery at all.

Check the voltage on it. If it's below 11V you may be able to recover it using the parallel charge method. Take a look at Optima's FAQ for how to do it. You just need another good battery, a pair of jumper cables, and a charger that won't put out over 15V and 10A.

I had a yellow top on my 93 and a red top on my 99 and never had any problems. Unfortunately, I've been reading that in the last few years they've really gone downhill after being bought.

Auto Zone tried to charge it and it failed. Taking that and the fact that the one corner got real hot, you still think I might be able to salvage it?

Yep, five years ago they dropped their prorated warranty as well.

My jeep just sat for a month . Hopped in and she cranked like i just shut it off.

I'm leaning towards an exide from tractor supply now. Just not sure what size. Looks like it will be right around $100

My junkyard test then resells battery's that come in, usually around $20-$25 per battery.
