Rear bucket seats??

Hey I was thinking of taking out my rear bench seat and installing buckets.

Do you know of anyone who has done this or have you?

maybe some pics.

I think it would be a awesome idea..

There was a thread on here not to long ago where someone replaced the bench with some XJ or GC front seats not to long ago I believe. I'll see if I can't dig it up.

I really like the idea, might do it myself. A couple of issues with that though- what will you put in between them (console??), you won't be able to fold that seat down anymore so say goodbye to hauling anything decent sized. Just my thoughts on it. I'd like to see it though.

The base of the seats would have to be modified so the passengers sit higher up. The front seats have more leg room, so the front seat are lower. The back seats have less leg room so the bag seats are higher off the floor.

Otherwise if you just took some stock front captain chairs from the front and stuck them in the back.. I think that would be a bit awkward to sit in.

Understand what I'm saying?

yea,,, I get it.

I would fab it up to take the bottom rails off and then like "flat rail it" so it would sit like a back seat and it wouldnt be awkward..

Are you talking about changing the actual vertical height of the sitting surface? or would the problem be that the sitting surface is deeper from front to back on a bucket seat?

i can see both being a bit of an issue, but the vertical height seems very fixable, especially since you are talking about making new brackets anyway...
